Kuok Foundation Berhad invites applications for the above awards from Malaysian citizens applying for full time Undergraduate courses at selected Local Private Universities and Colleges.

This awards are not full scholarships but are financial assistance given to needy students in the form of half-loan half-grant awards. This means that half of the amount disbursed will be repayable to the Foundation as an interest free study loan. Repayment will commence after graduation on a monthly instalment basis.

Allowance for learning aids including books, computer, stationeries, and other material of RM2,000 per semester or RM4,000 per year
Monthly allowance of RM500 per month up to a maximum of RM6,000 per year

In summary, the programme will cover the above fees and allowance up to a maximum of RM20,000 per person per annum.

During the period of internship with PIDM, each recipient will receive a monthly allowance of RM1,000 for a six-month period.

L’Oréal Malaysia launched the 5th edition ‘For Women in Science Fellowships’ to provide financial assistance of RM20, 000 each to 3 young female researchers to pursue their scientific project in Malaysia.

KLK has established a foundation, (Yayasan KLK), which offers scholarships to deserving undergraduates from the lower income group pursuing a diploma or degree course at any local government universities. Upon graduation, candidates may be offered positions suitable to their course of study within the KLK Group of Companies.

Advertisements for the scholarships are placed out every year. The applicants based on our criteria are then screened and short-listed for an interview. Successful applicants are provided with annual grant over the minimum duration of their courses, RM 7,000 per academic year (Degree) and RM 5,000 per academic year (Diploma).

While undergoing tertiary education, the scholar's academic performances are monitored and they are provided field training when necessary. Such monitoring is necessary as it ensures only good talents are subsequently recruited to continue the Group's tradition of leadership excellence.

AS part of its efforts to nurture and develop young talented Malaysians, IJM Corporation Bhd will be awarding scholarships to outstanding students to pursue their tertiary education in local universities.

Given out for the 15th year, this award is open to students who have achieved academic excellence, are actively involved in sports and co-curricular activities and need financial assistance.

Successful candidates would not only receive scholarships of RM10,000 per annum but the opportunity of working with a competitive Malaysian conglomerate with businesses in construction, property development, building materials, plantations and infrastructure investments that is reputed for its professionalism and governance. The groups international operations also provide its scholars opportunities for international exposure.

ASEAN Scholarships for Malaysia: Pre-University One Scholarships

The ASEAN Pre-University One Scholarships is tenable for 2 years leading to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced (GCE A) Level (or equivalent) certificate. Students who perform well in the GCE A-Level (or equivalent) Examination may apply for the ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarships offered by the National University of Singapore, the Nanyang Technological University or the Singapore Management University.

The Scholarship is for 2 years of Pre-University studies in selected Singapore Junior Colleges and is renewed annually, subject to the satisfactory performance of the scholar.

Students from Malaysia who wish to enter Singapore schools at the Pre-University 1 level under the ASEAN Scholarships are welcome to apply for the Pre-University awards. Candidates who are not short-listed for the scholarships may be considered for the Singapore Government’s Merit Awards.

2011 INTERNATIONAL FULBRIGHT SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING MALAYSIAN STUDENTS

The International Fulbright Science and Technology Award For Outstanding Malaysian Student is for Ph.D study at top U.S. institutions in science, technology, or engineering. The award is designed to be among the most prestigious international scholarships in science and technology. The program is funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) in Washington, DC. It aims to convey the message that the U.S. remains the premier destination for serious scientific study and research, and that America not only welcomes top-notch talent, but encourages future leaders to shape their careers through U.S. study.

International Fulbright Science and Technology Award recipients come from all regions of the world and engage in a wide-range of scientific inquiry. Recipients are chosen through a rigorous multi-tiered, merit-based selection process in their home countries followed by a field and discipline review by well-known U.S. academic leaders, final nomination by a blue-ribbon Advisory Panel including U.S. university deans, presidents, and a Nobel Laureate, and approval by the Fulbright Scholarship Board.

Institute of International Education (IIE) in New York, will be responsible for placement of all Fulbright Science and Technology Award recipients. IIE will work closely with the recipients and ECA to ensure the best placement available for field of study and research interests.

Grantees will receive J-1 visa sponsorship under the Fulbright Student Program for up to five years starting approximately August 2011. After five years, if necessary, ECA will transfer sponsorship to the host university assuming satisfactory continuing progress toward Ph.D completion. Grantees not able to secure an entry visa to arrive in time for their program start date may lose their fellowships. Selected candidates must provide IIE with a valid passport prior to the issuance of Form DS-2019.

Has never enrolled at any educational institution in Taiwan for the same level of degree or LEP that he/she plans to matriculate at.
Is not an exchange student in accordance with any agreement of cooperation between an international university/college and an educational institute in Taiwan, at the time of receiving a Taiwan Scholarship.
Has never received the scholarship to undertake any degree program or language study within the total award period of 5 years.
Does not have any revocation record regarding the Taiwan Scholarship Program nor from the Ministry of Education’s Huayu Enrichment Scholarship Program.

University of Wyoming - Rocky Mountain Scholars Awards

The Rocky Mountain Scholars Award provides annual scholarship support to select new international freshmen students based on their incoming cumulative grade point average (GPA).

Students are provisionally awarded scholarships by the UW Admissions Office shortly after being admitted. Final awards are made upon receipt of all final academic records. A student's scholarship award may go up or down based on their final cumulative GPA. The University of Wyoming Admissions Office evaluates all international transcripts and calculates grade point averages for students upon receiving all application materials.

This scholarship is only available to first-time, entering freshmen seeking their first bachelor's degree, but is renewable for up to 8 semesters (4 years). Students must maintain full-time enrollment in Laramie campus courses (12 semester hours) during the Fall and Spring semesters each year and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA. The scholarship is not available for use during Summer semesters.

Students selected to recieve the Rocky Mountain Scholars Award for the Fall semester must confirm their enrollment at UW by May 1st. Students will recieve instructions on how to confirm their enrollment after being admitted.
